Teaching philosophy
I believe that teachers impact students as much outside of the classroom as they do inside. When I look back at my experiences as a student, it is the teachers’ who took the time to look closer and see me as an individual who impacted me the most. I found a love for teaching and gathered experience as a STEM summer counselor at a camp while in secondary school. Watching students gain an understanding and develop a hunger for more knowledge was one of the most fulfilling experiences I have ever had. I plan to build a student centered classroom that allows students to feel safe and judgement free. This is important as students are more likely to be open and take chances without the fear of being wrong. My goal is to build an environment which is accessible to all regardless of learning style or disability.
